What is the history of Odyssey of the Mind in West Virginia?

West Virginia first sent teams to World Finals in 1982 West Virginia formed an association in 1985. In 1991, a team from Vienna Elementary was the first team from West Virginia to win World Finals. They were coached by Julie Gaskins. West Virginia also had a winning team from East Dale Elementary. West Virginia has had several teams finish in the top ten. In the 2009/2010 school year, West Virginia will celebrate 25 years as an association. First West Virginia Association Director was Ms. Diane Chandler of West Virginia State College
